Classic bow ties make a mark at Golden Globes

Fashion on the red carpet has been a major talking point from the Golden Globes in California on Sunday (local time) and as per usual for a Hollywood events night there were plenty of eye-catching hits and some not-so-impressive misses.

On the men's side of things it was interesting to note the quality of outfits across a broad age spectrum, with 82-year-old Christopher Plummer and 39-year-old Frenchman Jean Dujardin appearing equally sophisticated in traditional black-and-white tuxedos with elegant bow ties.

Both gentlemen were big winners on the night, with Plummer voted the best supporting actor for his film Beginners and Dujardin collecting the prize for best actor in a comedy or musical for The Artist.

Along with their fine performances and proud acceptance speeches, the entertainment world would also have taken note of their sartorial elegance as they took to the stage in style.

Vintage bow ties and quality tailored ties help any man - from Hollywood star to office worker - look fantastic at award nights, charity events and corporate functions.

This classic look might even be appropriate for certain dinner parties or social engagements, so it is always handy to have a decent variety stored neatly in your wardrobe.
