Leonardo DiCaprio pictured in vintage striped tie on set of The Great Gatsby

Filming of Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby remake has been plagued by inclement weather throughout its production in Sydney - and yesterday (February 9) the cast and crew desperately attempted to make up for lost ground with a marathon shoot.

Once again conditions were problematic over the harbour city, but fortunately for Luhrmann and stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan the rainfall was patchy and work continued on several important sunshine scenes.

Glimpses of the A-list line-up in action have been rare since filming began last year, but yesterday photographers captured pictures of DiCaprio dressed superbly in a double-breasted baby pink suit, matching button-up vest, crisp white shirt and unique tie with angled pink and burgundy stripes.

To top off the classic 1920s appearance for his role as Jay Gatsby, DiCaprio strutted around with a straw boater hat, burgundy pocket square, cane, dark sunglasses and a silver watch.
